Welcome to the Iowa Youth Chorus

We're proud to have celebrated 25 Years!

The Iowa Youth Chorus embarked on its 26th year as Iowa's premier youth choral organization in September, 2007. Formerly Des Moines Children's Chorus, the Iowa Youth Chorus is home to about 400 singers from across Central Iowa. Students range in age from 6 to 18 and meet at one of 7 locations for weekly rehearsals - Des Moines, West Des Moines, Ankeny, Indianola, Grinnell, Newton and Pella.

AUDITIONS

Iowa Youth Chorus Choir School offers five levels of choirs in three locations to accommodate students of all abilities throughout Central Iowa.

Students ages 8-18 who are interested in becoming part of the Choir School generally audition during one of two time periods: May-September; December-January. Auditions can be scheduled at any time, but students typically enroll in our program at the beginning of each semester in either September or January.

Children between the ages of 6 and 7 can join the non-auditioned Primary Choir.
