We're proud to be embarking on 30 years!

The Iowa Youth Chorus is Iowa's premier youth choral organization, and is home to over 200 singers from across Central Iowa. Students range in age from 6 to 18 and meet at one of 7 locations for weekly rehearsals - Des Moines, West Des Moines, Ankeny, Windsor Heights (Primary Choir), Newton and Pella.

As a member of the Iowa Youth Chorus programs, the students learn the value of excellence and the approach to achieve it. Our members are able to take this experience and knowledge and apply it to other life activities.

AUDITIONS

Iowa Youth Chorus Choir School offers five levels of choirs in seven locations to accommodate students of all abilities throughout Central Iowa.

Students ages 8 - 18 who are interested in becoming part of the Choir School generally audition during one of two time periods: May-September; December-January. Auditions can be scheduled at any time, but students typically enroll in our program at the beginning of each semester in either September or January.

Children between the ages of 6 and 7 can join the non-auditioned Primary Choir.
